Subject Implementation of the Brokerage Payment System (BPS) POSTPONED UNTIL JULY 1st

Continuing through June 30th, the new Brokerage Payment System (BPS) that will replace the current ATOM system on July 1st is available for parallel testing.

The new application introduces several new and exciting features, most notably:

  • Web-based and accessible in the CME portal
  • Rate flexibility allows for tiered and retroactive rate entry
  • User ability to create daily and monthly ad hoc reports
  • Differentiation between electronic and pit executions

The test Parallel BPS system is accessible in the Clearing Production section of the CME portal.  This test version contains all the data from 3270-ATOM.  If you currently have security access to ATOM, you will have access to BPS.  Please note that your password will be the same as your user id when you initially log in.

Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the new application and ensure your firm data is accurate.

All current data in ATOM will be automatically uploaded into the new BPS application.   This means firms will not have to reenter all their brokerage rates into the new application.  Please take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with the new application and ensure the rate sets in ATOM are also in BPS.

In addition, please test the new Reports function which will allow you to create and customize brokerage reports on a daily or month-to-date basis.

Also, please note the following:

  • BPS will go live July 1st and will process all trades after this effective date
  • The June month end processing and creation of the banking files will be done by ATOM.
  • During the adjustment period, July 1st thru 3rd, any changes that need to be applied for June business will need to be entered in ATOM only.  If the changes need to be carried over into July onwards then they need to be entered in BPS as well.
  • On Monday July 6th, ATOM system will no longer be available to Firms.
